To connect cBioPortal to an external user database such as Active Directory will require the installation of [Keycloak](http://www.keycloak.org).  Please read the Wiki page on [Authenticating and Authorizing Users via Keycloak](Authenticating-and-Authorizing-Users-via-keycloak.md) for information on how to connect the cBioPortal with Keycloak.
